Babe, how’s your ojas?

Ojas (oh-jahs): your strength, immunity, and resiliency. The part of you that feels so nourished, so full of radiance, that nearly nothing can shake you.

‘Don’t cry over spilled milk,’ they say…

I’ve come to take this idiom a bit too literally, but you’d be surprised how easy it is to let milk boil over on the stove. (walk away for two seconds, I swear).

Most days, all is well. I clean up the mess, make a fresh batch, and there’s a warm chai in my hands within minutes. And other days… well, let’s just say my kitchen floor has seen some tears. This is usually my cue that my precious ojas is low.

Okay, so clearly it’s not about the milk. But, if you’ve ever found yourself feeling overly vulnerable, anxious, disconnected, or scattered, it might be time for your (ojas) intervention, too.

What exactly is ojas?

Fabulous question, so glad you asked.

Ojas is the sanskrit word to describe the subtle essence of your vitality. Ojas is like nectar, or sweet honey. When you have healthy ojas, you have a clear + focused mind, a healthy immune system, a joyful attitude, and glowing skin.

The problem is… modern life can easily deplete your ojas. Chronic stress, a tendency to overwork or multitask, and overstimulation (lookin’ at you doom scrolling) can leave a woman feeling depleted.

Depletion always equals dryness. A woman without her juicy ojas…

- loses her ability to go with the flow
- doesn’t have the internal reservoir to handle life’s ups and downs
- has a hard time tasting the fruitful pleasures of everyday life

This last one is the real crime (you’ll soon understand why).

So, how do you know if your ojas is low?
